*The 20th CPC National Congress held opening on Oct 16th and to end on Oct 22nd.

*President Xi made speech on the opening of the 20th party congress on Oct 16th that a modern socialist China will be built up by 2035, focus of economic development will be placed on real economy with adjustment of industrial structure to be optimized for green low-carbon development. Military training and war preparation to be enhanced with national unification promoted.

 

Financials

*Specific short-swing trading measures applicable to foreign capital are under formulation by CSRC, which to allow qualified foreign public funds calculate stake holdings by products and to exempt HK Securities Clearing from short-swing trading regulations.

*CSRC and two stock exchanges revised rules of share repurchase and stake purchase by senior officers which 1) eased pre-conditions of share repurchase; 2) eased listed time limit to 6 months; 3) time limit to 6 months; 3) eased restriction of window period.

 

Industrial Economy

*National Healthcare Security Administration suggested inclusion of dental implants into medical insurance payment coverage is not in consideration yet.

* Precious metals closed down collectively. COMEX gold contract down 1.6% to closed at $1650.2/oz. SHFE gold active contract down 0.45% to closed at 389.86 yuan/gram.

* Metals closed down mostly, LME aluminum down 2.92%, LME nickel down 2.8%, LME tin down 0.9%, LME zinc up 0.64%. Bonded copper up 0.6%, SHFE copper up 0.44%, SHFE tin down 0.46%.

* Commodity futures closed down mostly. Energy & chemistry futures saw a weak performance, fuel oil down 2.92%, LPG down 2.31%, PTA down 1.71%, methanol down 1.57%, MEG down 1.11%. Black series closed down collectively, coking coal down 1.85%, iron ore down 1.57%, steel rebar down 1.44%, hot-rolled coil down 1.15%. Agricultural products closed up mostly, soybean meal up 1.16%, rapeseed meal up 1%.
